Showing Up is the surest path to success that I know of. I’ve been in the personal and leadership development business for over 30 years, and the idea of “showing up” has never dwindled, changed or diminished.

What does it mean to Show Up?

So many of us wait until we get it right – before we jump into something.

• I’ll get _____ done first, and THEN I’ll _____.
• Just as soon as I launch my website, I’ll look for a keynote opportunity.
• I’m going to post more about my business, but first I need to get a new headshot taken.

It’s so easy to put what you’re really wanting to create on the back burner. You hide your passion and keep it to ourself. And then you wait. You have every intention of doing it. But it never really happens…. Because you never really show up in the first place. You hide.

And here’s the dirty truth… You cannot be a secret and be a success… it’s just not possible.

You might not always want to show up, and it might not always work when you do. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t.

Throughout my career I’ve certainly had my ups and downs.

• I’m a big fan of “throwing spaghetti” at the wall – some of it will stick, and some of it won’t.
• And that’s okay.
• The important thing is that I keep trying.
• Day after day.
• Time after time.
• Even when I don’t feel like it.
