“Someday” is a trap. Escape it.

At our recent virtual event, I said something that struck a chord — not just with others, but with me too.
Lazy Dream Syndrome.
You know the one: it’s when your dreams sound beautiful in your head, maybe even look great on paper, but… they never quite make it past the wish stage. No consistent action. No accountability. Just vague intentions that you’ll get to “someday.”
I’ve had Lazy Dream Syndrome more than once in my life. We all have. It’s sneaky. It disguises itself as busy-ness, perfectionism, or fear dressed up as logic. We say things like, “When things calm down,” or “Once I figure it all out.” But deep down, we know… the dream is idling in neutral. And it’s just stuck there.
Here’s the truth: Our dreams need energy. They need forward motion. They need a decision.
Playing your Bigger Game means moving from dreamer to doer. It’s about shifting from lazy dreaming to aligned living. That doesn’t mean hustle culture or burnout. It doesn’t even need to become 100% of your focus.
It means taking small, brave steps. It means beginning. It means surrounding yourself with allies… with people who won’t let you off the hook.
So if this idea of Lazy Dream Syndrome hits home, don’t beat yourself up. Just decide that today’s the day you put some fuel in the tank. Today’s the day you do something. Anything.
Because dreams don’t work unless you do.
I believe that you’re here to create something amazing… actually, we all are.
Blessings,
Rick
