Year end perspective… is it working or not working?

For me, the holidays are about slowing down, reflecting, and looking at the bigger picture of my life… taking stock of my life as a whole and deciding what’s working, what’s not, and what’s next.

How did my year go? What do I want for next year? Am I still compelled to travel the globe? Will I really schedule much-needed vacation time in the coming year?

I like to call this the Bigger Game Perspective, and here are three (3) things I like to keep in mind as I reflect and dream. I share them with you in hopes that they will help keep you focused and moving forward as well:

  1. I look at what IS working in my life… rather than always seeing what is NOT working. Reflecting on what is NOT working is a comfort zone for most of us, and it simply doesn’t work!
  2. Stop blaming my life on my past circumstances. The past is the past. What happened to me in the past is certainly relevant to who I am today, yet it’s time for me to get current with TODAY and focus on the FUTURE. Remember… it’s all made up!
  3. Remember my allies! They are all around me. I am blessed and fortunate to have my partner, family, friends and colleagues all around the world. I have to remember to lean into them and ask for help. I can’t do it alone. And I actually don’t want to… I have much more fun when I surround myself with my allies.

Wishing you and yours a holiday season filled with love and blessings. I would love to hear from you about what you’ll be reflecting and dreaming about for 2018 and beyond!

Blessings-
Rick
