The last 5 minutes of your day

I have been re-reading Wayne Dyers “Wishes Fulfilled” and loving the way he explains the depth of how we actually manifest. And what struck me today was Wayne’s simple reminder about how we end our day. He talks about how the unconscious part of us is the place that receives the messages of our conscious thoughts, and then goes on to do its magical work and makes them real in our lives.

Regardless of whether our thoughts are positive or negative, our unconscious self will simply make them real. Many of us know this already and yet it’s easy to forget that this is how it really works.

What do you think about at the end of your day – that last 5 minutes of half-awake/half-asleep state? Think about that – these are the last thoughts being sent to your unconscious self, a.k.a. the land of dreams and manifesting.

For years, I used to fall asleep watching the news. I realize now that I was sending messages of fear, murder, war and stock market data to my creative self.

Lately, I’m in the habit of watching reruns of Hogan’s Heroes (love it!), which allows me to send messages of laughter, playfulness and creativity to my creative self. The choice is obvious, right!?

Now I get that some experts suggest NOT watching TV just prior to bedtime. But what works for some, does not necessarily work for others.

I invite you to try something new:

Make a choice about where you put your attention for the last 5 minutes of your day. Pick something that inspires you and brings a sense of fulfillment and joy to you. Try this for 21 days (creating a habit) and see what happens. Let me know, I would love to hear about the difference it makes in what you are creating and attracting in your life.

Namaste-
Rick

Thanks Rick! I made the choice a month ago to stop watching the news and to stop looking online at my home page for real estate, financial, or news stories. It was not so much that I was tired of all the negative and political stuff, it was that I realized I wasted about 3 hours of my day looking at this stuff. In looking for stimulus I would keep going back online and would see the same stuff I saw 4 hours earlier. I replaced the before bed news with Family Guy. (On a side note, I have never had a TV in the bedroom, the bedroom is for sleeping or……. Doing this allows for no distractions, quality time with my wife and a good sleep). By changing my TV and online habit I now have more time in my day for my business, important items and quality time, plus a better attitude about all of it.
