“Create and design your life from your unspoken passions.”
- Rick Tamlyn

The Bigger Game

The Bigger Game is a playful, easy and fun metaphor. It is a concept that will take you only five minutes to understand, and a lifetime to live.

The Bigger Game is an innovation model designed to change and challenge you and to inspire you to develop your full potential, to be your best, and to do your best to have a lasting, positive impact.

The Bigger Game offers a playful but highly effective system for innovating and evolving as individuals, groups, or organizations. The method, when rigorously applied, helps individuals and groups intentionally define what they want to accomplish and who they want to be within their families, communities, environments or careers.

What We Believe

We believe that we are each born with an innovative spirit, and that we each possess the unique ability to create positive change in our lives. The Bigger Game is based on the belief that we all hunger for a fulfilling life — a life filled with meaning and purpose — for ourselves and for the people around us. The challenge, though, is that many of us don’t know how to access our innovative spirit. Playing a Bigger Game shows us how.

Inspiring Bigger Game Players

Erin Brockovich knew she had to do something for the people of Hinkley, CA when she learned that a large California utility company was contaminating their drinking water. She had no legal training, and yet she knew something had to be done. Her efforts created a $333 million legal settlement for the residents of Hinkley.

Rich and Yvonne Dutra-St. John, spurred by their own challenging, often humiliating high school experiences, created the Challenge Day program — designed to teach students how to treat each other with compassion and respect. To date, more than 2,300 Challenge Day programs have been presented in the U.S. and Canada, affecting the lives of more than 235,000 teenagers.

Al Gore continues to teach us that our future is at stake because of global warming. For decades, Al was trying to get the public’s attention about this grave condition. It wasn’t until his film, “An Inconvenient Truth,” that people worldwide started to listen. He has alarmed and inspired millions of people to take responsibility in addressing the global warming crisis.

Ryan Hreljac became concerned when he learned that people in Uganda, Africa, didn’t have clean water to drink. Two thousand dollars was needed to dig a well in Uganda, and he didn’t know how to raise that kind of money. Local media outlets in his hometown of Toronto heard about his plight and ran stories about Ryan. He was able to raise the necessary funds, and a new well was dug in Uganda. Ryan was only six years old at the time!

Each of these Bigger Game players is a great innovator. They each “hungered,” and were compelled at their core to make a change, yet they didn’t know how to do it. And yet, that did not stop them. They were each playing a Bigger Game.

The Bigger Game keeps you on track with what you want your life to be about and the impact you want to create. The Bigger Game honors the innovative spirit that we each possess.
